Flintridge Sacred Heart Debate Team Participates in Cal Invitational Sponsored by UC Berkeley Debate – Pasadena Schools
Eleven members of the Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy team participated in the UC Berkeley Debate-sponsored Cal Invitational over the weekend. Five competed from home and six traveled to Berkeley to compete from the Doubletree Hotel. We explored the UC campus, visited alumni and did a bit of sightseeing.
FSHA congratulates Wendy Wang ’23 for making it to the Original Oratory Octafinals and Kana Park ’23 for making it to the Impromptu and Original Oratory Quarterfinals! These were the two largest categories of competition with over 140 competitors from across the United States in each.
Graduates Catherine Bauer ’20 and Meg Kalaw ’20 met the team for dinner. Meg judged the debate on behalf of our team. Catherine is campaigning for the presidency of the UC Berkeley SBA. We will learn the results of the elections in April.
Claire Ding ’21 hosted an authentic and delicious North Chinese cuisine dinner for us at a restaurant in Berkeley. The owner cooked the food himself and every dish was spectacular!
The three alumni spoke to team members about life at Cal and assured them of the community the Flintridge Sacred Heart alumni have created among themselves on campus.
