Here’s What Happened To KC’s BBQ After The Restaurant: Impossible

According to Food Network Gossip, the TV makeover took place in 2021. Since then, KC’s barbecue has remained in business and received decent reviews on review sites. It looks like the episode brought in some people, and some of them came in for more than the typical chest. One happy Yelper noted, “I heard about this place on Restaurant Impossible and decided to drop by. I know it’s a barbecue restaurant, but you have to try the ‘burnt salad.’ the fresh arugula, brisket, watermelon, cherry tomatoes, pumpkin seeds and Vignette dressing with a kick, to die for.” Another reviewer said he visited twice after “Restaurant :Impossible” made this possible. They too raved about the burnt end salad with candied yams, Cali slaw and collard greens.

Although it scored about four stars based on 428 Yelp reviews, some customers were very openly unhappy. A June 3 review explained, “The food was appalling all around. … The chicken had no flavor, the greens were inedible as well as the corn and potato salad. It certainly wasn’t worth $50.

For the most part, KC seems to have good to excellent reviews. However, given its past financial struggles, we don’t know how the place is navigating the battles against inflation that have taken such a shocking toll on restaurants of late. Time will tell if he can withstand the setbacks and obstacles that await him.
