Main Street in East Aurora flooded today [PHOTOS]
It was a downright messy and miserable day in Western New York. Wednesday’s weather was pretty nice for February, rising into the 50s with a breeze, but Thursday saw nothing but heavy rain, wind and yes, flooding.
All of western New York was under a flood warning today, with the heavy rains and all that melting snow.
Many areas of western New York saw flooded yards, side streets and even some major roads, including East Aurora, where Main Street near Pasquale was flooded this afternoon.
It was so deep that traffic had to be diverted.
The road has since reopened, but it’s crazy that a lot of water has flooded on such a busy and popular street as Main Street in East Aurora.
I went through a huge puddle on Ridge Road today, but luckily it wasn’t deep enough to cause any problems.
Be careful driving tonight as the weather will change from rain to freezing rain and then all snow after midnight, where Buffalo could see 2-4 inches, and areas to the north could see 4-8 inches. There is a winter storm warning for Niagara and Orleans counties until 9 a.m. Friday.
This weekend it will get colder again, but don’t look now, temperatures are back in the 40s by Sunday and Monday.
