Rosendale’s filings for Montana’s new Eastern District in Congress

This is actually a historic moment. This is the first time since the early 1990s that Montana will have two members in the United States House of Representatives. And when it comes to Montana’s new Eastern District, Montana Congressman Matt Rosendale is on board.

Congressman Rosendale, currently the state’s only member of the U.S. House of Representatives, filed a request for the Second District earlier this week at the Secretary of State’s office in Helena.

Rep. Rosendale: It has been an honor to serve the people of Congress in Montana over the past year, and I humbly ask for their support once again as I campaign for re-election in Montana’s 2nd Congressional District. Now more than ever, it’s apparent that Democratic leaders in Washington don’t care about the impact of their actions on everyday Montanans — and I hope the people of our state will allow me to continue to defend their individual liberties and to fight against government spending out of control and excess of power in DC

Rosendale has been rock solid for conservatives in Montana since day one in office, showing he’s not afraid to take on the DC establishment in either party.

I caught up with him in late 2021 to talk about the year ahead and what may happen in the 2022 midterm elections.

Rep. Rosendale: If the Republicans are going to win, it’s not if it’s when the Republicans get the House back in 22 we’ll have the purse strings. We will be responsible for developing a budget and an allocation process to fund the government. And it will be up to us and our leaders to start stepping forward and saying, you know, this program has to go because it’s not producing any results.
