“A used condom”
Most reviews are sobering for the hotel, with most guests reporting a terrible stay.
A review on the site, titled simply “Disgusting,” makes a series of allegations about what they discovered in their bedroom.
They said, “If I could give zero stars, I would!”
“The room is dirty! Black mold in the bathroom and a weird smell in the place.
“The worst part was a used condom on the bedside table.
“This room clearly hadn’t been cleaned at all and I didn’t sleep that night! Good location but spend more and find a nicer place!”
“Very rude staff”
Another disgruntled customer said he was surprised at how dirty his room was and criticized some of the staff.
They wrote: “The hotel was very dirty, the carpet was old and dirty from the stairs and all the way up.
“No elevator, and the shower and bathroom had mold all around. Dilapidated furniture and most importantly … VERY RUDE STAFF except for the man when we first checked in.
“I am very disappointed.”
“I left within 30 minutes”
Another irate customer lambasted the smell and atmosphere of the hotel during their very short stay.
They said, “Had the hotel booked for one night while I was attending a business event. As soon as I walked into the place I could smell a body odor.
“I was given a key to my room in the basement, the carpets were dirty, they didn’t look like they had been vacuumed in months.
“The room was dirty and the walls were covered with marks and cracks. I didn’t stay and checked within 30 minutes.
“When I returned my key to reception and explained why I was leaving, they just looked at me like I was an alien.
“How does this place stay open?” “

However, despite the bad press, there is a tiny bit of positive reviews for the hotel.
It reads: “The location is great just behind Marble Arch / Oxford Street station.
“The rooms are basic but clean and tidy, friendly staff and good restaurants nearby. I spent four days there in January and will be going back this end of the month. Happy overall.
MyLondon has contacted the Berkeley Court Hotel for a response to their reviews, but has not received a response at time of publication.
