The outer end | Colorado Rapids with Marcelo Balboa
New York City Football Club returns to the Bronx on Sunday to take on the Colorado Rapids.
Hello Marcelo, thank you for speaking with us. How long have you worked as a TV analyst for the Rapids?
I’ve worked as a broadcaster for the Rapids for about 14 years.
What do you enjoy most about the job?
What I appreciate the most is the atmosphere and the electricity of the stadium on match days.
What do you think are the Rapids’ greatest tactical strengths?
The ability to go from defense to attack with all the speed you have.
The Rapids had a great season in 2021 finishing top of the Western Conference – how would you rate their start to 2022.
The start of the season has been a bit of a roller coaster ride. It’s been hard to replace guys like Cole Bassett, Sam Vines and Dominique Badji, so they’re just looking for consistency in the second half of the season and to be a bit more clinical in front of goal.
And for any of our fans who might be in Denver for a game, are there any places you would suggest they visit?
Boulder is a beautiful place to visit, Golden is also a beautiful place to visit, lots of hiking trails and wonderful restaurants.
